Full Description
General Requirements
- Must be able to work in various outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Capable of lifting up to 80 lbs and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Able to stand for extended periods and walk throughout the day.
- Must maintain a driving record that meets company insurance requirements and be eligible to operate company vehicles.
- Required to be available during the off-season for snow operations as needed.
- Must adhere to all company safety standards, operational procedures, and policy guidelines.
- Specific job responsibilities are included as guidelines and can be expanded to include other duties as needed at the discretion of Green View managers at any time.
Position Specific Requirements
- Perform pre-operation inspections on all hand tools, wheelbarrows, small power tools, and heavy equipment, ensuring safe operation and proper maintenance.
- Load and unload materials, efficiently organizing materials on trucks and directing laborers in proper staging and transportation.
- Maintain cleanliness of trucks, tools, and facilities through daily housekeeping, equipment washing, and tool sharpening as needed.
- Check and replenish fluids on equipment daily, ensuring operational efficiency and preventing downtime.
- Oversee and direct all equipment usage on large-scale or multi-phase job sites, including mini excavators, paver vacuums, compact loaders, and brick saws; ensure equipment readiness, proper maintenance scheduling, and safe handling across crews.
- Oversee planting of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees, ensuring proper installation, fertilization, and backfilling for plant health.
- Lead and execute landscape construction projects, including grading, excavation, and installation of patios, walkways, driveways, retaining walls, and landscape timber walls.
- Perform specialized masonry construction, including mortared brick walls, free-standing stone walls, and other high-level stonework.
- Manage and direct laborers in performing tasks such as material staging, excavation, layout, and structural installation with minimal supervision.
- Supervise multiple jobs on a single site, ensuring efficient workflow and proper resource allocation.
- Plan and coordinate material orders and deliveries, ensuring all items are on-site in advance of project phases.
- Serve as the primary field liaison for clients, providing updates, anticipating concerns, and ensuring alignment with project expectations.
- Recruit and select laborers by participating in interviews and hiring decisions to build and maintain a skilled crew.
- Read and interpret blueprints, developing landscape projects from conceptual drawings and adjusting designs in collaboration with homeowners and architects.
- Communicate daily with salespersons to provide progress updates, schedule adjustments, and client coordination.
- Lead and train crew members, teaching both fundamental and advanced construction techniques while reinforcing proper installation methods.
- Complete and oversee daily paperwork, ensuring accurate documentation of materials, labor hours, ship tickets, and time sheets.
- Follow and enforce all safety policies, ensuring proper lifting techniques, PPE usage, and adherence to company standards for a safe work environment.
- Maintain an organized and safe job site by removing debris, staging materials properly, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Obtain and retain a C-Class or CDL license to support equipment and material transportation as needed.
- Consistently meet or exceed company benchmarks for efficiency, job performance, and customer satisfaction while working independently.
