CDL A Truck Driver
Route: Regional
Freight: No-touch
Pay: $1,325 to $1,500 weekly
Home Time: Weekly
Location: Baton Rouge, LA 70801
Highway Express is hiring CDL A drivers to operate within defined multi-state freight corridors supported by long-term customer contracts. This position is structured for drivers seeking weekly home time, steady mileage flow, and consistent routing patterns.
Freight moves through established customer lanes with a strong percentage of drop and hook shipments along with scheduled live unload appointments. Drivers operate within a regional footprint designed to maintain predictable dispatch cycles and regular return scheduling.
Freight Operations
This division supports contracted freight agreements that maintain steady load volume throughout the week. Loads are sequenced to promote continuous movement rather than irregular long-haul assignments. The no-touch model allows drivers to focus on safe operation and on-time performance.
Compensation
Weekly pay is $1,325 to $1,500. Drivers are compensated for dispatched miles, including authorized empty movement when applicable. Company-paid orientation is provided upon successful onboarding. Following orientation, drivers transition directly into established freight lanes with consistent dispatch flow.

• Kenworth T-680 automatic tractors
• Auxiliary power units installed
• Power inverters and in-cab refrigerator capability
• Outward-facing camera systems
• Aerodynamic trailers designed for fuel efficiency
Equipment is assigned and maintained on preventative service schedules to support operational reliability and uptime.
Benefits
Medical coverage options are available after 90 days, including health and vision plans. Prescription assistance and life insurance options are offered. Paid time off eligibility begins after one year of service, with holiday pay eligibility after 90 days. A 401(k) retirement savings program becomes available after one year. Valid Class A CDL required. Minimum recent tractor-trailer experience in compliance with DOT regulations. Ability to meet safety and performance standards.
