Position Description
The Driver will safety and efficiently deliver equipment, products, and/or materials to customers in a timely and professional manner. Drivers drive heavy, tractor-trailer, tractor-trailer combinations, transport, side dump, and dump trucks. Position may involve loading and/or unloading goods at destination. Drivers must know the principles and methods for transporting goods, must know how to read and describe physical characteristics, locations, have a solid understanding of the laws, legal codes, and government.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Operates a straight truck or semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals.
Load and unloads good and materials or assists with loading and unloading using specialized equipment when warranted; unloads empty skids and returns all equipment to designated area.
Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, fuel, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to Maintenance Supervisor.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
Ability to remain focused in busy environment.
Must be able to travel frequently.
Strong focus on safety and teamwork mandatory.
Education and Experience:
Must hold required commercial driver's license appropriate for type of vehicle to be operated.
Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting in the truck cab.
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time.

Starting base wage: based on experience plus fringe.
