Position Summary
The CDL Class A Driver will safely transport heavy equipment, construction materials, and oversized loads using a variety of trailers, including RGN, lowboy, gooseneck, equipment trailers, end dumps, and water trucks. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in their equipment, understands load securement requirements, and is committed to safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Transport construction equipment, materials, and oversized loads to and from job sites.
- Operate various trailer types including:
- RGN (Removable Gooseneck)
- Lowboy trailers
- Equipment trailers
- Gooseneck trailers
- End dump trailers
- Water trucks
- Haul dozers, excavators, loaders, compactors, skid steers, pipe, structures, stone, fill material, and other construction-related loads.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Complete DOT-required documentation and driver logs.
- Properly secure loads using chains, binders, straps, and other approved securement methods.
- Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and jobsite personnel.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment when required.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of assigned equipment.
- Work as part of a team to support construction operations and project schedules.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License with no restrictions.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks (18-speed experience preferred).
- Clean MVR/NVR and driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of Class A driving experience.
- Heavy haul, lowboy, RGN, or construction hauling experience preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and load securement requirements.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
- Ability to work safely in construction environments.
- Ability to climb, bend, lift, chain down equipment, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
