Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Truck Driver to join our team at Kett Engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting different loads to various automotive testing locations while ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations. Your contribution will be vital in supporting our automotive testing programs.

Although the position is mostly local, expect SOME travel, likely to Arizona transporting different loads to a local proving ground in Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Transport different loads to designated locations for automotive testing purposes.
• Ballast loads
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and traffic laws during transportation.
• Perform pre-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and vehicle conditions.
• Assist in loading and unloading vehicles as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding delivery schedules and requirements.
• When traveling out of state, use and maintain company credit card where you must also keep track of receipts.

Requirements

• Education- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Physical Requirements- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Job requires sitting standing, bending, and driving for up to 8 hours on a daily basis.
• Must be flexible and available to work overtime, and hours outside of normal demands, including weekends and Holidays.
• Ability to pass DOT Drug Screen and Physical, background check, pre-employment written and driving evaluations.
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required with at least 3 years of experience.
• 7 years of licensed driving experience.
• Must have a clean driving record for the previous 36-month period, with no moving violations or at fault accidents in the last 3 years
• Tractor Trailer experience is required.
• Although position is mainly local, expect some trip to be made to the Toyota Arizona Proving Ground.
• 25% of travel at least
• Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with knowledge of route driving.
• Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
• Strong understanding of freight handling and delivery processes.
• Must be familiar with operation of modern automotive electronics such as navigation systems, infotainment and Blue Tooth connectivity.
• Should have knowledge of vehicle components, systems, and operating procedures.
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude strongly preferred. Familiarity with current trends in the automotive industry including alternative fuel vehicles (Hybrids, fuel cell, etc.)
• Ability to learn and operate new vehicle features (e.g., GPS, navigation, infotainment systems, etc.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
