Position Summary
Responsible for driving a tractor-trailer in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures to transport various materials in a safe and timely manner.

Position Summary
Responsible for driving a tractor-trailer in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures to transport various materials in a safe and timely manner.
General Duties
- Drive the truck, van, flatbed, or other company vehicle in Iowa only.
- Couple the tractor and trailer.
- Refuel the tractor.
- Keep the interior and exterior of the tractor and trailer clean.
- Complete paperwork such as logs, fuel records, receipts, etc. per the DOT and I.C.C. rules and regulations.
- Inspect the equipment and goods before commencing driving duties and reporting issues to appropriate party.
- Investigate safety of loads and correcting materials loaded on trailer.
- Fasten binders and chains to secure load for transport.
- Safely handle and transport materials and heavy cargo.
- Transport/deliver load with good attention to customer service and safety. Professionally represent KINZE.
- Aid with loading and unloading the truck as requested.
- Assist with the planning of specific runs to vendors.
- Review Bill of Lading to plan the most efficient route prior to departure, load product on to the truck accordingly.
- Manage the vehicle in safe operating condition required by DOT.
- Adhere to laws on commercial vehicle operation as per Federal, State, and local authorities.
Requirements
- High school diploma with 1-3 years relevant work experience
- Previous OTR Semi-Trailer driving experience
- Valid CDL from state or jurisdiction
- Fork-lift certified
- Exceptional driving record
- Experience with Reverse Goose-Neck (RGN) trailers
- Knowledge of Federal and State requirements regarding oversized loads
- Familiar with electronic log systems
Working Conditions
Manufacturing Environment:
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Wearing appropriate PPE and following safety procedures
- May require lifting, pushing, pulling of objects.
- Varying temperatures, depending upon season and machining

Working Time:
- Overtime work as required
- Local - no overnight travel
