Full Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
• Drivers are required to follow DOT regulations and drive legally at all times. It is the driver's responsibility to notify the dispatcher as soon as they are aware that they may/will not be able to complete their work assignment legally. DOT compliance and providing dispatch with adequate notice of being "out of hours" is of the utmost importance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Make deliveries by appointment times scheduled;
• Re-stack and straighten skids when necessary;
• Call in all damages and shortages, before leaving account. If leaving any delivery location during non-office hours, leave message on Dispatch phone with any order discrepancies, detention time or other required information;
• Make sure the product loaded is correct on the bill of lading that is signed;
• When product loading, report the presence of decay, mold, contaminants, allergens, or foreign materials, such as metal, glass, etc. to dispatch and/or buyer;
• Include trailer number and trip number on TCR for all pickups;
• Remain in frequent contact with dispatch throughout the day on all loads;
• Handle all deliveries and pickups in a professional manner;
• Required to care for and maintain tractor according to the guidelines set forth in the Driver Pay Plan;
• Maintain company requirements:

o Keep daily Logs and inspect equipment daily according to DOT regulations;

o Obey all traffic laws;

o Maintain entire balance of petty cash minus current receipts for total sum supplied;

o Meet with dispatcher once a week to reconcile petty cash;

o Complete and turn in all paperwork and logs on a daily basis, or on day of return to office for trips that require a layover;
• Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• High School diploma or GED required;
• Class A CDL driver's license issued by State of PA;
• Tanker endorsement;
• Two years' experience, accident free driving, violation free driving

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Regularly required to sit, use hands;
• Occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds;
• Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, bump cap, skid-resistant leather shoes, etc.);
• Must follow Good Manufacturing Practice (hair net, no jewelry, no fake nails or eyelashes, no food/drink, gum, etc. in manufacturing Plant)
