Job Summary: This position is responsible for the collection of used tires from a customer's facility and transportation of the tires back to a Liberty Tire Recycling facility or drop yard. In addition to the tire collections, the driver also functions as the main point of customer interaction and records all transactions in accordance with company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Possess knowledge and experience to operate a variety of tractors within DOT guidelines
Understand and know safe lifting techniques to life and load tires of all sizes
Knowledge and understanding of navigating with local maps
Oversee additional employees (driver helpers) that are assigned to the route
Maintain a positive customer service attitude in demanding situations
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to dispatch through the successful completion of DVIR's; maintain clean, safe equipment
Maintain accurate "Driver Log" within FMCSA regulations
Perform all duties in accordance with appropriate safety standards
Other duties will be assigned as necessary by the company
Skills and Abilities:
1 year driving commercial driving experience
Must be 22 years of age.
Must be physically capable of climbing in a trailer unassisted and in a safe manner to reduce injury
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public
Work independently with general instructions
Perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
Class A CDL required
Current DOT medical card
Must meet all FMCSA driver qualification requirements
Education and Experience:
Prior experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry is a plus.
