Full Description
Doug's Underground Service, a MPS Group, Inc. Company is looking for a reliable CDL-A Truck Driver to join our team in Traverse City, MI. This individual will be responsible for moving equipment & materials to and from job sites. In addition to driving, the CDL driver will assist with equipment maintenance, support utility construction crews, and help with clean-up efforts or other on-site tasks as needed. A strong focus on safety, both on the road and on the jobsite, is a top priority.

Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Operate company vehicles with a CDL-A license, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of equipment, & materials to/from job sites.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment & materials at various job sites.
- Collaborate with utility construction crews to ensure smooth operations and on-site support.
- Participate in job site clean-up and assist in any other activities required on the job.
- Maintain safe driving practices and comply with all applicable regulations, laws and safety standards.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Assist with minor maintenance and repairs on equipment when necessary.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle malfunctions immediately to management.
- Can adapt to different job site conditions and tasks daily.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Valid CDL-A license with air brake certification and no restrictions.
- Previous experience as a CDL-A driver, preferably in a construction or utility-related field.
- Ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle, including loading/unloading equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist with basic equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and ability to prioritize job safety on the road and at job sites.
- Ability to work well with others and provide support to utility construction crews and other team members.
- Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of tasks each day.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying equipment as needed.
- Strong communication skills and a reliable work ethic.
