CDL/VAC Truck Operator

MPS Group, Inc., is seeking a CDL/Vac Truck Operator to join our team and be dispatched from our Headquarters located in Farmington Hills, MI. This individual will load and unload equipment for the job, setup and breakdown equipment, such as various sized industrial vacuum hose, hydro blast hoses, or any other systems and processes for the job.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

• This individual will be responsible for operating industrial vacuum trucks and hydro- blasting equipment as required.
• Assist with the loading, unloading, setup and teardown of equipment, such as various sized industrial vacuum hose, hydro-blast hoses, or any other systems and processes required for the job.
• Operator will be required to climb up on top of the truck or containers (12 feet high +/-) to inspect the load.
• Perform equipment pre/post trip inspections and minor maintenance.
• Stay physically fit and able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., as well as standing, kneeling, or bending for prolonged periods of time.
• Work in industrial settings, including the automotive industry, steel mills, and power plants.
• Wear proper PPE as required for the assigned task.
• Check all waste-related paperwork (such as manifests, bills of lading, and land disposal restriction forms) for accuracy and completeness before transport; ensure proper placarding.
• Adhere to all safety protocols of MPS and the host facility, as well as DOT regulations and all local, state, and federal laws related to the assigned work.
• Perform manual labor in industrial settings as required.
• Maintain best practices and safe operations for industrial vacuum activities.
• Work flexible hours and be willing to travel as necessary to assigned job sites, with company transport available outside the Metro Detroit area.
• Adapt to a position with no set schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Class A or B CDL license and a year of related experience.
• High School Diploma preferred.
• Ability to read and understand basic instructions.
• Ability to follow safe work protocols, commercial and industrial processes and adhere to the personal protection requirements of the assigned job.
• Ability to pass company training programs when assigned (OSHA 10, 40hr HAZWOPER, DOT-RCRA, forklift, aerial lift etcetera)
• The ability to drive and operate trucks equipped with both manual & automatic transmissions.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
