CDL Route Driver / Home nightly  – Manpower

Manpower is currently partnering with a global manufacturing company located in the Des Moines, IA area.

Our client, a global corrugated paper manufacturer, is seeking to hire two CDL Route Drivers for the greater Des Moines area.  As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating company vehicles along a designated route collecting recyclable materials from commercial customers. 

The ideal candidate will bring previous route driving experience along with ahveing a valid CDL license.  industrial maintenance experience AND strong electrical/PLC controls knowledge and a positive attitude which will align successfully with the company’s culture and environment.  

Job Title:                           CDL Route Driver  
Location:                          Des Moines, IA
Pay Rate:                          $28-32/hour DOE
Shift:                                  4:00am – 12:00noon Monday – Friday. 
Overtime hours available. 
No overnight routes.  Home nightly. 

What’s the Job?

• Safely operate assigned vehicle along a designated route collecting recyclable materials from commercial customers 
• Complete daily pre/post trip inspections, reporting any safety concerns and attend daily safety-tool box meetings
• Obtain daily work schedule, BOL’s
• Courteously interact with customers and dispatchers to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain communication throughout the day with dispatcher accommodating route changes as needed
• Ensure all pick-up, delivery and vehicle condition reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner
• Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement 
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standards, including cleaning and trash removal from cab of truck

• 2+ yrs of verifiable Class A Driving experience
• Must be 21 yrs of age
• experience in a mechanical and/or electrical maintenance position.
• Strong troubleshooting skills within the mechanical and electrical areas to include pneumatics, hydraulics and PLCs.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
• Current DOT Medical card
• Air Brakes Endorsement 
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and criminal background check
