What You'll Be Doing
As a CDL Operator / Class A Slinger Operator, you'll be responsible for operating slinger trucks and other heavy equipment to safely and efficiently place materials on construction sites. You will also assist crews with general labor when equipment is not in use. This position requires precision, safety awareness, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Class A Slinger Truck to deliver and place aggregates, sand, and other materials
- Safely load, transport, and unload materials at job sites
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment
- Assist in material placement for backfilling, trenching, and grading operations
- Maintain accurate delivery and material placement records
- Adhere to safety policies, traffic laws, and DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with crew leaders and dispatch to ensure timely deliveries
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning on assigned equipment
- Assist construction crews with labor tasks when not operating equipment
What You Need
Required Experience / Qualifications:
- Valid Class A CDL License with a clean driving record
- Proven experience operating slinger trucks or willingness to be trained
- 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety procedures
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to assist with general labor duties as needed
- Reliable transportation to job sites within 60 miles of Indianapolis
- OSHA 10 Certification preferred (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
