Position Overview
The Part-Time Continuing Education Instructor teaches and works with Recreation and Leisure and/or Continuing Workforce development courses, specifically with the Commercial Driver's License Program.
What you will be doing
- Prepares and distributes course outline / syllabi to students
- Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
- Maintains accurate attendance records
- Develops teaching and learning strategies that optimize student performance
- Develops curriculum
- Participates in textbook and technology committees
- Complies with department and College policies and procedures
- Works closely with Chairperson or designee to provide substitute instruction as needed
- Assists with other services and activities such as: recruitment, retention and other functions as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from a regionally accredited institution
- Driver Training Instructor License
- Valid CDL Class A license with a minimum of two (2) years of verifiable tractor trailer driving experience demonstrating instructional competency
- State Certification where applicable
- Prior experience teaching adult learners
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well with students, staff, and faculty
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
- POSITIONS MAY BE AVAILABLE AT VARIOUS CAMPUS LOCATIONS
Additional Requirements
The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
