ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Rotating forty (40) hour work week, 24 hour shifts, seven (7) days a week. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities
Utility Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the City's storm water drainage system and support of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Perform maintenance, installation and repair storm water devices such as inlets, manholes, main lines and service lines.
- Perform manhole and underground piping installation, repair and maintenance.
- Install, repair, and replace existing infrastructure.
- Install, repair, replace and maintain all guard rails along drainage ditches.
- Paint piping, valves, valve covers, etc with protective coatings to prevent corrosion.
- Repair, maintain and stock various tools and equipment, including pneumatic and hydraulic tools, electrical power tools, gas powered tools, and other types of tools.
- Direct and train other employees on crews as needed.
- Perform related tasks such as tracking employee time, amount of equipment and location of equipment at all times.
- Maintain crew truck and keep stocked with proper tools to complete daily assignments.
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Requires High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience
- Valid Texas Class A CDL required at time of hire
- Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas Class A driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating
Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
