NHT Logistics, Incis a family-owned trucking, cold storage and brokerage company located in Denver, PA. Join our team as we aim for excellence in everything we do.

Purpose: We are seeking a professional and safety-focused Class A CDL Driver responsible for the timely and secure transportation of goods across the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, and throughout the mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Midwest regions. The CDL A Driver will be in complete support of and willing adherence to NHT's mission, vision and core values. Applicant must hold these standards as his/her own.

This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The driver will be responsible for operating equipment safely, managing freight handling, and utilizing company-provided technology to ensure accurate navigation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Safely operating equipment to transport goods while ensuring on-time deliveries and high-quality customer
service.

• Loading and unloading trailers, including breaking down freight as needed

• Adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulations while maintaining a safe and courteous driver style.

• Completing accurate, neat, and timely paperwork.

• Navigating routes using GPS and in-field technology provided by the company.

• Maintain accurate logs and activity records using ELD systems to remain compliant with federal and state regulations.

In addition to daily operations, the driver is responsible for maintaining equipment safety and readiness through regular inspections and reporting. This includes:

• Conducting pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of tires, lights, brakes, fuel levels.

• Reporting mechanical issues, defects, or required maintenance on tractors and trailers immediately.

• Keeping equipment clean, organized, and in proper working condition.

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL

• Valid DOT Medical Card

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

• Clean motor vehicle record (no serious violations in the past 3 years).

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to specialized freight handling and delivery requirements. While prior experience in these areas is preferred, NHT will provide training to ensure drivers are confident and capable in all aspects of their role. This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a variety of environments including farms, urban delivery locations, and changing weather conditions.

Preferred skills and competencies include:

• A willingness to learn how to haul nest run eggs and operate safely on tight farm roads, including in inclement
weather.

• Ability to manage multiple delivery appointments at varying times, including daytime and overnight schedules.

• Basic understanding of single- and dual-zone trailers, including proper use of a bulkhead.

• Working knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws.

• Ability to properly secure palletized freight using tension bars and E-track systems.

Additional technical and operational experience is beneficial, particularly in equipment handling and electronic logging systems. Candidates who are comfortable working with modern tools and warehouse-style delivery methods will be well positioned for success.

Preferred qualifications also include:

• Power jack certification

• Experience operating an electric pallet jack for dock deliveries, street-side loading/unloading, and liftgate
operations.

• Familiarity with Samsara ELD system.

They are highly motivated, possess a strong work ethic and remain teachable and coachable when it comes to learning routes, equipment, and company procedures. A dedication to continuous improvement and ongoing learning is essential along with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with dispatch, customers, and team members. The candidate maintains professionalism and courtesy at shippers, receivers, and while on the road, and consistently exercises strong situational awareness and sound judgment in day-to-day operations.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions:

The CDL A driver must be comfortable operating in a variety of environmental conditions, including adverse weather such as snow, and be able to sit for extended periods of time. This role requires frequent physical activity including bending, climbing in and out of the truck and trailer multiple times a day, and handling freight. Drivers should be capable of performing tasks such as up-stacking and down-stacking pallets and lifting 50 pounds or more.

This position also requires strong hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, as well as visual and hearing acuity to safely perform all job functions. Candidates must be comfortable working in temperature-controlled environments including conditions that may reach as low as negative 20 degrees.

Work Hours: Varies

Travel: 100% on the road. Must be willing to be out overnight, if needed, with the potential for multiple nights in a row.

Compensation: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
