The Portage County Highway department is currently hiring Summer Help! These are great positions, especially if you enjoy working outdoors. We currently have one position available.
Additionally, these positions work 4 days a week, so you can enjoy a 3 DAY WEEKEND!
Hourly pay without a CDL is: $18.90 / hr
Hourly pay with a CDL is: $19.85 / hr
What are the main job responsibilities?
- Operate industrial tractors for roadside maintenance
- Collect refuse from various roadways and other similar manual tasks
- Perform manual road construction and maintenance tasks.
- Road patching, cut brush, tar cracks, use hand and small power tools
- Perform a variety of manual labor duties
- Operate light and medium level equipment
- Coordinate traffic control (flagging)
- Operate hand and small power tools
What are the minimum qualifications?
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license or commercial driver's license (Class B CDL) and safe driving record (some of these positions do NOT require a CDL.)
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Prior experience in a similar work environment preferred.
