Job description
We are seeking dedicated and experienced CDL A Drivers to join our team who can excel at safely transporting goods and materials, meeting delivery schedules, and providing excellent customer service. You will be responsible for the safe transport and delivery of QES materials by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations while driving to and from designated locations, verifying loads and maintaining shipping records. This is NOT a full-time driving position; we offer both local and over-the-road (OTR) opportunities to match your preferences and lifestyle. When not driving will be required to work in the shipping department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for delivery of various products locally as well
as occasional overnight deliveries (occasional weekends as
needed).
• Responsible for documentation regarding date/time of arrival and
conducting a two-party inspection before offloading process
begins.
• Maintaining receipts and recording expense reports.
• Loading and unloading various types of vehicles, which may
involve various types of equipment.
• Forklift certified.
• Oversee daily inspections on vehicles and submit written
reports on the condition of the vehicles.
• Oversee dispatch paperwork to determine the load and verify
accuracy.
• Responsible for reporting all accidents and incidents involving
drivers or company equipment.
• Report any delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic
conditions or other emergencies.
• Professional representation of the company through responsible
driving and appearance.
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicles using 5S standards.
• Appropriately uses blocks, straps, ropes, etc. to secure cargo
prior to transit.
• Regularly checks all equipment prior to servicing such as fluid
levels, tire pressure, etc.
• Performs other related tasks, as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Valid CDL A driver's license.
• Must have or be able to obtain a DOT card prior to hire
• Must be able to pass an MVR screening in accordance with company standards
• Education equivalent to a high school diploma.
• Must pass an pre-employment alcohol and drug test as well as random screenings.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets,
word processing, database and other applicable software
programs.
