Full Description

R. J. Corman Railroad Services is currently seeking a Grapple Truck Operator to join our team in Nicholasville, KY.

Responsibilities:

Transport, operate, and service heavy equipment used in railroad derailment recovery.
Safely operate grapple trucks and other CDL-A vehicles/equipment.
Handle heavy steel chains, blocks, cables, and other recovery materials.
Perform equipment maintenance, cleaning, and setup.
Use hand and power tools, including cutting torches and welding equipment.
Perform manual labor such as digging and hammering.
Follow DOT regulations and permit requirements.
Maintain safe work practices and proper PPE usage.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:

Valid CDL-A license with no restrictions and manual endorsement required.
Valid DOT Medical Card required.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe vehicle operation.
Ability to operate heavy equipment such as grapple trucks, sidebooms, track loaders, excavators, and vac trucks.
Experience with or ability to learn welding, cutting torch operations, and equipment maintenance.
Must pass a background check, drug screen, and physical capacity test.
On-the-job training provided.

Physical Requirements:

Lift up to 100 pounds maximum.
Frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Perform physically demanding tasks, including digging and material handling.
Comfortable working at heights over 25 feet on railroad cars and bridges.
Ability to work over or in water.

Environmental Requirements:

Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work in railroad recovery and construction environments.
Exposure to elevated work areas, bridges, and water-related worksites.
Must enjoy and be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods.
