Full Description

Pay: $16.21 an hour or $30.00 an hour

$1,400 Incentive Pay

POSITION SPECIFIC DETAILS:

Full Time Driver

  • Hours: 40 hours/week-Part Year
  • $16.21 an hour*

Part Time Driver

  • Hours: 18 hours a week-Part Year*
  • $30.00 an hour
  • Not eligible for benefits

SUMMARY:

The Transportation Specialist will transport children and parents enrolled in agency programs safely and promptly. They will be an integral part of the child's educational process, portraying a positive role model for children, parents, and the public. They will also deliver food and other program supplies/equipment to appropriate sites and to effectively support program operations with varying tasks such as light maintenance needs and assisting in the classroom.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • A valid Wisconsin driver's license
  • A valid CDL (Commercial Drivers License) with Passenger (P) and School bus (S) endorsements
  • An excellent driving record for the past 5 years and less than 7 points on driving abstract
  • To successfully meet insurance underwriter's driving record requirements
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Successfully pass drug tests as mandated by federal law
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience working with low-income families and experience with disabled people is desirable
  • Experience with young children
  • Experience in vehicle and building maintenance
  • Training in first aid, defensive driving, safety and child development
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Part Year employees have built in vacations which include summer break, 2 weeks in winter, and spring break (part year staff follow the school district calendar in which their program is located)
