Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic Starting Rates 25 40an hour based on experience Equal Opportunity Employer MinorityFemaleDisabilityVeteran Red River Waste Solutions is an environmental services company that provides waste management solutions for the communities we serve As a company that serves many communities throughout the United States we are looking to add another team member to the RRWS family As the Diesel Mechanic with Red River Waste Solutions you will perform engine and emission maintenance as well as repairs on all trucks and equipment and where necessary can perform all drive train component work as well as suspension and steering systems repairs and maintenance on heavy duty trucks as well as light duty trucks This position requires an advanced level of knowledge of various heavy duty diesel truck work varying from drive trains suspension valve systems as well as engine chassis and body control systems The Mechanic must be able to perform advanced level repair and maintenance in compliance with the Companys safety procedures and requirements RESPONSIBILITIES Performs andor assists in repairs and maintenance of RRWS fleet vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with local state and federal regulations and company policiesPerform emergency repairs on truck breakdowns during company operating hoursProvides advanced mechanical assistance in all areas of automotive repairper company maintenance schedules andor from driver vehicle inspection reports DVIRVehicles engine Engine ChassisEmission systems transmission brake hydraulic and electrical systemsWelding experience is a plusEnsure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working orderUse an assortment of hand tools a heavy impact air wrench computer and other related equipmentMust have own toolsMust use safety equipment glasses gloves etcPerform roadside repairs and adjustmentsPerformassist in routine housekeeping duties related to tools materials shop and work areasAdministrative duties when necessary such as cycle counts parts requisitions warranties etcMaintain accurate records for all vehicles in the fleet such as time repair orders parts usagePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Class A or B diesel mechanic at least 3 three years of experience in a mechanictech position requiring knowledge and application of shop safety including lockout tag out fire safety safe use of hand and power tools and the safe use of cutting and welding toolsAdvanced knowledge of air brakes hydraulics electrical suspension and drive train with at least 3 three years of hands on experienceASE Air Brakes ElectricalElectronic Diesel Engine HVAC Systems certificationsBasic computer skills and knowledge of PC based diagnostics operationClass A or B Commercial Drivers License CDL is a plusAbility to perform the physical requirements of the job prolonged physical exertion standing lifting pushing pulling squatting bending kneeling climbing and working in awkward andor tight areasMust be able to lift upwards to 75 lbs poundsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 21 years of ageMust be legally eligible to work in the United StatesPossession of a valid Drivers LicenseDOT Med CardNo more than 3 violations within the last 3 yearsMust complete pre employment screeningMust be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate understand and respond to questions directions traffic signs signals and safety trainingCOMPENSATION PACKAGE Competitive WageLow cost Medical insurance with Dental and Vision plans covered 100 for employee401k Full Time employment after 6 months RRWS will match 50 cents on the dollar up to 6PTO after 1 year of EmploymentPaid HolidaysThis job description is intended to describe the general nature complexity and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities duties andor skills required It does not prescribe or restrict the work that may be assigned Furthermore this does not establish a contract for employment and is subject to change at the discretion of the company Red River Waste Solutions provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race color religion age sex national origin disability status genetics protected veteran status sexual orientation gender identity or expression or any other characteristic protected by federal state or local laws This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment including recruiting hiring placement promotion termination layoff recall transfer leaves of absence compensation and training
