The Field Service Technician Senior will assist with disassembly, reassembly, troubleshooting, and

maintenance of vehicle platforms on-site in Roush facilities, in offsite facilities, and remote locations.

The role will provide support to multiple roles and areas of responsibility related to vehicle and

equipment components and systems. The role will provide mentorship and technical training to other

employees to promote growth and keep operational activities on schedule and functioning smoothly.

As the Field Service Technician Senior, you will be responsible for:

  • Training, coaching, mentoring and providing technical support to customers and other team members regarding mechanical, electrical, structural, and testing responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert
  • Developing project work instructions in collaboration with engineering and team leadership
  • Assisting internal activities with technical expertise related to issue resolution and warranty cases
  • Communicating diagnostic findings to engineering staff for analysis and collaborative resolution and conduct daily meetings with team to brief on activities and program or project expectations
  • Maintaining, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems to component level failures experienced during operation
  • Performing Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) according to project expectations and Technical Manuals (TMs) or work instructions, will include utilization of schematics and diagrams
  • Performing equipment updates to support testing of vehicle systems

As the Field Service Technician Senior, you will need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing vehicle systems and minimum of 4 years of experience as Field Service Technician
  • Minimum of 5 years of diagnosing to component level and repairing newly integrated vehicle systems
  • Ability to lead and work with different cross functional teams, interact professionally with others, prepare written technical reports and have excellent organizational skills
  • Broad knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, component materials & fasteners
  • Ability to diagnose and repair gasoline, diesel and alternate fuel internal combustion engines and electrified powertrains and all related High Voltage (HV), and Low Voltage (LV) electrical, fluid and gaseous support systems
  • Proficient in the application of diagnostic software such as Ford International Diagnostic Software (F-IDS), Ford Diagnosis and Repair Systems (FDRS) and Diagnostic Engineering Tool (DET)
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A successful candidate may also have:

  • Certification in Engineering Technology or similar
  • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Certification
  • Proficient in the use of maintenance tools, repair and special tools, advanced diagnostic equipment including ATI Vision, PTDiag and Roush Diagnostic Tool (RDT)
  • Proficient in working with Technical Manuals (TM's), wiring schematics, work instructions, work orders and follow-up of historic troubleshooter findings and notes
  • Ability to maintain flexible work schedule including overtime and weekends
