Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Flatbed Tractor Trailer Driver is responsible for hauling fabricated steel from our West Jordan, UT plant (on occasion haul to or from Pocatello, ID plant) to construction sites located primarily in Nevada and California and then haul loads back to Utah.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate tractor trailer loads and efficiently deliver to site on time.
Ensure loads are organized and secured properly and free of damage.
Maintain proper documentation of loads.
Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed DOT standards.
Comply with all applicable state and federal highway laws and standards.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to perform each essential duty daily.

Two-year minimum CMV Tractor Trailer driving experience (flatbed preferred).
Class A CDL
No more than 2 moving violations in 12 months.
No speeding 15 MPH or more violations in 3 years.
No rollovers or abandonments.
Must pass DOT background check, physical and drug screen.
Must be dependable and reliable enough to operate trucks in a safe and sensible manner.
Work independently in the absence of supervision.
Two-year minimum CMV Tractor Trailer driving experience (flatbed preferred). If under two years of flatbed experience, a mentorship program is provided.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The ability to strap and tarp loads in rain, snow, heat, or other inclement weather conditions.
Secure freight by hand.
Ability to lift 75 lbs to at least shoulder height.
Spread out tarps at heights up to 13'6".
Throw straps to a height of 14' over a load.
Occasional use of hands in handling materials and tools.
Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and reach while doing cargo securement.
Physically fit to work in an industrial environment and tolerate exposure to varying physical conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Use of PPE such as gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear is required.
Interaction with customers, team members, dispatchers, and supervisors are frequent and necessary.
