CDL-A Local Grocery Truck Driver - Home Daily | $85K-$95K + $5K Bonus

Join a dedicated local grocery account based in York, PA, delivering dry and frozen freight to Ahold/Giant grocery stores. Enjoy daily home time, consistent dedicated freight, and a reliable Tuesday-Saturday schedule while operating within a 250-mile radius of York.
Pay Details
$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Average Weekly Pay: $1,650 - $1,850
$5,000 Bonus
$70/day salary
Detention pay averages approximately $150 per week
$20/hour for safety training
$25 per rail shuttle
$200 holiday pay for working a scheduled holiday
Additional account average annual earnings listed at $80,000-$83,000

Job Details

Dedicated local position based in York, PA
Operate within a 250-mile radius of York
Deliver dry and frozen groceries to Ahold/Giant grocery stores and supermarkets
Primary service area is within approximately 75-100 miles of the distribution center
Deliveries include Philadelphia, but drivers do not operate in New York or New Jersey
No deliveries within New York City
Operate both 53' and 51' reefer and dry van trailers
All freight is palletized
Trailers are preloaded for delivery
Multi-stop routes averaging approximately 2 stops per trailer
Typically complete two shorter loads per day or one longer load
Pick up backhauls returning to the yard
Backhaul freight is approximately 90% drop-and-hook
Dedicated, steady freight available year-round
Assigned automatic day cab tractors, with occasional tractor sharing between opposite shifts
Trucks must remain at the account during time off
Occasional store assistance may be required using an electric pallet jack for tailgate palletized freight
Electric pallet jacks are available at stores
Uniforms provided and maintained by the account
Strong customer service skills are important for this role
Drivers must have reliable personal transportation to and from work

Shift Details

Tuesday-Saturday schedule
Normal start time around 4:00 PM
Standard 5-day workweek
Opportunity to work a 6th day on a voluntary basis
Average approximately 1,400 miles per week
Home daily
Holiday work required when a driver's scheduled workday falls on an operating holiday
No loads on Thanksgiving or Christmas
Holiday schedule:
- Thanksgiving: Off
- Christmas: Off
- New Year's: Time off not guaranteed

Job Requirements

Valid Class A CDL
Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience
No SAP drivers
Comfortable operating reefer and dry van equipment
Ability to provide occasional assistance with palletized freight using an electric pallet jack
Strong customer service skills
Reliable personal transportation to and from the account is required
Must meet all DOT, company, and account-specific hiring requirements
Safe driving record required
