CDL-A Semi-Local Truck Driver - Good Pay | Frequent Home Time
Earn $85,000-$95,000 per year hauling no-touch retail freight on a dedicated semi-local account. Drivers typically spend about two nights on the road each week and enjoy frequent home time, plus a 48-hour reset.

- Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,700-$1,850
- Annual steel-toe boot reimbursement of up to $50
- Haul retail freight from a distribution center to retail stores throughout the assigned route network.
- Handle no-touch freight and store returns.
- Loads are preplanned, typically up to one week in advance.
- Assemble and disassemble doubles equipment at pickup and delivery locations.
- Operate specially equipped trucks designed for doubles operations.
- Complete at least 3 days of training with an experienced driver mentor before solo dispatch.
- Assist other dedicated accounts or intermodal operations during slower periods as needed.
- Account-specific shirts, hats, and required PPE are provided.
- On-site management, driver recognition programs, and account appreciation events are available.
- Typically begin the workweek Sunday evening and return early Friday morning.
- Start times generally range from 5:00 PM-12:00 AM, depending on scheduled runs.
- Loads are often ready between 11:00 AM-3:00 PM the day before delivery.
- Drivers may choose to run their clocks primarily during the day but must remain flexible for nighttime operations.
- Typically home a couple of times per week, plus a 48-hour weekend reset.
- Average of approximately 2 nights on the road per week.
- Weekend deliveries may be required, especially during September-December surge periods.
- Trucks may be taken home during time off if doing so does not affect available hours.
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- No SAP drivers
- Ability to assemble and disassemble doubles equipment
- Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and nighttime hours
- Willingness to assist other accounts or intermodal operations when needed
- Ability to operate safely and legally at all times
- Doubles equipment with specialized pintle hooks and removable mudflaps
- Truck may be taken home with approval based on hours-of-service requirements
- Account-provided shirts, hats, and PPE
