Yard Hand
Position Summary
Join Smart Chemical Services as a Yard Hand for our Midland location. The Yard Hand is responsible for performing a variety of manual labor tasks throughout the yard, including industrial yard work, general housekeeping, receiving materials, and stocking inventory.
This position requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.

Position Summary
Join Smart Chemical Services as a Yard Hand for our Midland location. The Yard Hand is responsible for performing a variety of manual labor tasks throughout the yard, including industrial yard work, general housekeeping, receiving materials, and stocking inventory.
This position requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the yard under the direction of management
- Consolidate partial containers of identical chemicals
- Ensure all chemical containers are properly labeled
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks carrying chemicals
- Perform general housekeeping duties around the yard
- Repackage chemicals from out-of-spec containers into suitable replacements
- Assist with yard counts and inventory management
- Coordinate with designated companies for the removal of empty containers
- Collect and process incoming and outgoing bills of lading (BOLs) for inventory tracking
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong commitment to safety is required
- Forklift operation experience highly preferred
- Valid CDL Class A required
Working Conditions and Hazards
- Work performed outdoors in extreme hot and/or cold weather conditions
- Exposure to toxic, corrosive, and hazardous chemicals
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
