Position Summary
South Mill is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Local CDL-A Driver to handle local freight deliveries and backhauls. This role ensures timely pickups and deliveries while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
This is a local driving position with daily routes and consistent dispatch support.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer on assigned local routes
- Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Deliver and pick up freight in a timely and professional manner
- Back trailers into dock areas and maneuver in tight spaces
- Maintain communication with dispatch throughout the workday
- Complete required delivery paperwork and ELD logs accurately
- Report any vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and company policies
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license
- Minimum one (1) year of tractor-trailer driving experience
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Valid DOT medical certification
- Ability to read and communicate in English (DOT requirement)
- Ability to operate Electronic Logging Devices (ELD)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and climb as needed
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly (more as needed)
- Ability to safely enter and exit the tractor multiple times per shift
Work Environment
- Exposure to varying weather conditions
- Warehouse and loading dock environments
- Professional interaction with customers and team members required
