About the Role:

The CDL Operator (Class A or Class B) drives and operates a company truck picking up, hauling and unloading industrial waste including various fluids, hazardous, and non-hazardous materials within oil and gas refineries or over the road. This position requires a high level of responsibility to ensure timely delivery while adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations governing commercial driving. The operator will be responsible for vehicle inspection, maintenance reporting, and managing cargo to prevent damage or loss. Effective communication with dispatchers, clients, and team members is essential to coordinate routes and schedules efficiently. Ultimately, the CDL Operator contributes to the overall success of the supply chain by maintaining safety, reliability, and professionalism in all aspects of their work. This position is a safety sensitive job role. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with project managers and site supervisors to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid CDL Class A or CDL Class B driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience operating commercial vehicles.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections and handle cargo loading/unloading.
  • Proven experience operating heavy machinery or commercial vehicles in an industrial setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials (HAZMAT) transportation regulations.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Additional endorsements such as tanker or doubles/triples endorsements.
  • Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate and maintain vehicles and specialized equipment for services such as vacuum truck operations, tank cleaning, and waste transport.
  • Set up and break down job site equipment, including hoses, tools, and chemical handling components, following work orders and safety protocols.
  • Operate Class A commercial motor vehicles to transport freight safely and efficiently across assigned routes.
  • Maintain clean vehicles, decontaminate equipment after use, and assist in daily field maintenance tasks.
  • Perform hazard recognition to identify and mitigate risks on job sites; wear and enforce use of all required PPE.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Load and unload cargo, securing it properly to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery records in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to provide updates on delivery status and resolve any issues that arise during transit.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to minimize risk and ensure safe operation.
  • Report any mechanical issues or accidents promptly to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ability to perform manual labor, including heavy lifting and working in confined spaces.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
