Full Description
Team Elmer's is seeking to fill a full-time opening for a Transportation Services Assistant at the Traverse City location.
The Transportation Services Assistant will work directly with the Trucking Division Manager and accounting department staff. This position will perform various duties such as: invoice trucking orders, scheduling, route detail, driver safety training, CDL training, and support the daily needs of the Trucking Division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Problem solving with personal skills to manage employees
- Follow, train and coach safety policies and company policies
- Check time & material job reports daily
- Accounting support functions of the trucking division
- Help with dispatching duties and driver assignments
- Meet with customers and complete quotes for jobs
- Compile, sort and classify all company fuel information
- Manage GPS tracking software
- Review timecards for accuracy and compare to electronic logs
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Valid CDL-A Driver's License
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
- Previous 2-3 years administrative assistant and/or customer service experience preferred
- Knowledge of the construction trucking and aggregate industry a plus but not required
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers
- Attention to detail is a must, good with numbers and can perform at a moment's notice
- Strong computers skills (Microsoft Office-Excel, Word, Outlook) and abilities to learn new programs and pick up thing quickly
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, accept immediate responsibility, and work in a fast pace environment
- Excellent time management and a "can do" attitude
- Candidate must be a team player, but able to work independently.
- Strong ability to prioritize and excellent communication skills are essential
