Tierra Encantada Charter School, a bilingual public charter school serving grades 7-12 in Santa Fe, is hiring a passionate and student-centered Spanish Language Arts Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year. This teacher will be a key part of our mission to foster biliteracy, critical thinking, and cultural appreciation-with support and focus on guiding students to earn the State Seal of Bilingualism-Biliteracy.

- Knowledgeable about Spanish literature and bilingual education frameworks
What You'll Do:
- Teach reading, writing, grammar, and literature in Spanish to grades 7-12
- Design instruction aligned with NM standards and Bilingual Seal pathways
- Mentor students through portfolio creation, public presentations, and CLEP exams as part of the Bilingual Seal
- Celebrate and integrate diverse voices from the Spanish-speaking world
- Collaborate with staff to strengthen the school's bilingual program
- Participate in cultural events and student-led activities
- Foster inclusive and responsive classroom environments
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid NM teaching license with endorsements in Modern Classical Languages and Bilingual Education (or willingness to obtain)
- Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English
- Experience teaching at the middle or high school level
- Understanding of Bilingual Seal requirements and instructional strategies
