Job Description:
Supervisory and skilled manual work in the care of park and shade trees including trimming and removal of trees, insect identification and spraying for insect control, repair of assigned public work projects; all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, some college education in forestry or arboriculture; three (3) years experience, including one year supervisory experience in arbor care; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. CDL Class B drivers license, Must be able to obtain Massachusetts pesticide license and Hoisting license within probationary period.
Additional Qualifications:
Working knowledge of tree trimming, tree removal and tree treatment methods. Thorough knowledge of the use of common insecticides. Ability to work effectively in precarious positions at considerable heights above the ground. Ability to give clear instructions and to supervise crews effectively. Ability to use hand tools and operate specialized power equipment and vehicles.
