CDL A Driver - Heavy Touch - $30 Per Hour
Noblesville, IN
About the Position
This is a unique role for a CDL A driver based in Indianapolis, reporting to Columbus, OH management. The driver will operate independently and must stay on top of communication without being chased. This position involves hands-on, touch freight work, requiring the manual unloading of steel at job sites using bars and basic tools. Candidates should be comfortable working outside in all conditions and managing material safely.
Pay & Schedule
- Pay Rate: $30 per hour plus overtime
- Shift: 1st shift
- Home Daily
Job Details
- Route Type: Local
- Equipment: 36’ gooseneck pulled with a single axle day cab
- Handling: Heavy touch freight - Manual unloading of steel
Key Responsibilities
- Handle deliveries in the Indianapolis market
- Coordinate with Columbus on loads and priorities
- Occasional trips to Columbus and Cincinnati for loading and support
- Prioritize safety and align with the company's safety culture
- Communicate effectively about delays, job site problems, and load issues
Minimum Requirements
- 6-12 months of recent, relevant, and verifiable CDL driving experience
- CDL A license
- Solid flatbed experience (securement and unloading) is a plus
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years)
- Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements
