Full Description

CDL-A DROP & HOOK DRIVER

HIRING AREA: MULTIPLE U.S. HIRING AREAS

SPEND MORE OF YOUR DAY DRIVING - NOT WAITING AT A DOCK

Truck Driver Nation is reviewing experienced CDL-A drivers for Drop & Hook opportunities with participating motor carriers.
For drivers who prefer keeping the truck moving instead of spending hours waiting for live loading and unloading, qualifying Drop & Hook operations can provide a very different driving experience.

Select available positions may include regional and OTR routes, established freight networks, no-touch freight, and weekly earning potential reaching approximately $1,800 on qualifying operations.

WHAT DROP & HOOK MEANS FOR THE DRIVER

Depending on the specific operation, drivers may:
Arrive with an empty or loaded trailer
Drop the trailer at the designated facility
Connect to a preloaded or empty trailer
Complete required inspections and paperwork
Continue to the next destination
This can reduce dependence on live-loading schedules and help keep available driving hours focused on moving freight.
PAY & MILES

Select qualifying opportunities may offer:

Up to approximately $1,800 per week

Weekly pay

Consistent freight
Regional and OTR mileage opportunities
Direct deposit
No-touch freight on select operations
Actual compensation depends on the specific carrier, mileage, pay structure, freight availability, driver qualifications, operating schedule, deductions where applicable, and other factors.

Weekly earnings are not guaranteed.

FREIGHT & EQUIPMENT
Available opportunities may include:
Dry Van freight
Drop & Hook operations
No-touch freight
Preloaded trailers
Newer-model tractors on select positions
Established terminal and customer networks
Equipment and freight characteristics vary by carrier and available position.

REGIONAL OR OTR - LET'S FIND THE RIGHT FIT

Not every experienced CDL-A driver wants the same schedule.
Some qualifying openings may provide regional operations with more frequent home time, while others may offer longer OTR runs with increased mileage availability.

Truck Driver Nation will review your:

Home location
CDL experience
Preferred operating area
Desired home time
Equipment experience
Driving record
OTR or regional preference
against applicable current openings.
BASIC DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should generally have:
Valid Class A CDL
Current DOT medical card
Verifiable CDL-A driving experience
Acceptable MVR and safety history
Ability to perform proper tractor and trailer inspections
Professional communication skills
Dependable work history
Ability to operate within applicable Hours-of-Service requirements
Ability to satisfy DOT/FMCSA and applicable motor-carrier qualification standards
Individual carrier opportunities may establish additional experience, safety, endorsement, or hiring requirements.

WHY DRIVERS LOOK FOR DROP & HOOK

For many professional drivers, the attraction is simple:
Hook the trailer. Check the equipment. Move the freight.
Less dependence on live loading can mean fewer situations where a driver's available hours are consumed sitting at a customer facility.
Actual detention, loading practices, trailer availability, routes, and operating procedures depend on the individual carrier and account.
