Responsible for preparing finished material for shipment to customers, including application of labels
Assist with taking cycle counts for packaging and finished goods
Perform inspection of trucks/trailers for both incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure HACCP and plant requirements are met, including rejection when necessary
Receiving raw materials and checking to ensure that quantities are correct and reporting any obvious damage
Capable of carefully loading and unloading trailers, including all safety practices involved
Loading and unloading material in trucks/trailers with lift trucks
Move incoming and finished product without damage, dents, or deformation
Report findings immediately if any problems are identified
Capable of generating labels for incoming raw materials and affix as necessary
Able to unload rail cars utilizing a lift truck
Capable of getting on and off a lift truck multiple times during a shift
Capable of moving up to Material Handler B on shift as vacancy dictates
Willing to work in a hot, humid or cold environment
Maintain and upkeep a high level of cleanliness in the work area
Observe and follow plant rules for safety and GMPs
Education, Experience, and Skills
High School Diploma or GED required
Basic math skills, ability to use various measuring devices accurately
Basic computer skills, including ability to enter data accurately
Use of a barcode scanner, copier, & fax machine
Ability to read and follow written work instructions
Moderate amount of mechanical aptitude
Capable of learning Marcam computer system as needed
Capable of being qualified to operate/drive a lift truck
CDL (Commercial Driver License) Class A required
Physically capable of climbing ladders
Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
Capable of working in confined spaces
