CDL-A Semi-Local Lumber Driver - Joliet, IL
Earn $85,000-$108,000 per year hauling no-touch lumber freight on semi-local routes across the Midwest. This dedicated position offers a $5,000 bonus, consistent Friday-Tuesday scheduling, two consecutive days off, and online orientation through Direct to Work.

- Average Annual Pay: $85,000-$108,000
- Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,635-$2,077
- Hiring Bonus: $5,000
- Pay Rate: $0.61 CPM
- Average Miles: 2,500 per week
- Schedule: Friday-Tuesday
- Days Off: Wednesday and Thursday
- Start Time: 7:00 AM
- Shift Length: 10-12 hours
- Potential to be home one night per week when routes, weather, and traffic allow
- PTO accrues starting immediately at 1.5 hours per week, increasing to 2.3 hours per week at the sixth anniversary and 3 hours per week at the nineteenth anniversary
- Dedicated semi-local lumber account
- Deliver loads from facilities in Minnesota and North Dakota, with occasional runs to other states
- Operating territory includes Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota
- 100% no-touch freight
- Service-sensitive deliveries requiring on-time performance
- Follow customer procedures for checking in loaded trailers and dropping trailers at designated locations
- An empty trailer is required before departing the terminal for each run
- May assist other accounts in the area when freight volumes are low
- Online orientation available
- Manager on site Monday-Friday, with after-hours availability
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of verifiable truck-driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- No SAP drivers
- Must be able to follow customer check-in and trailer-drop procedures
- Must maintain on-time delivery standards and accommodate regional routes
- Automatic Freightliner or International trucks
- Trucks cannot be taken home
- Parking at the terminal near Elwood, IL
- No passengers permitted
- No pets permitted
