The Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating lasting value for those we serve by providing efficient and safe delivery of our products and services, while representing the company in a professional manner. The Delivery Driver is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with our customers by communicating effectively, ensuring quality and accuracy of our products, answering customer questions and keeping customers informed about our company and our services. This role serves as a key part of our sales process as they seek additional business from current customers and attempt to gain new business by passing leads on to our sales functions and informs the sales groups of customer and competitor intelligence. Depending on location, this person may be required to provide back-up coverage for the Transfer Truck Driver (where additional DOT guidelines and off shift hours may apply) from time to time. In addition to the delivery and customer service responsibilities, the Delivery Driver also takes initiative to provide general maintenance and up-keep of their delivery vehicle, performs daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment, and adheres to all DOT compliance requirements to ensure a positive relationship between the DOT and our company. This position would be required to drive varied hours including up to 10 weeks on a 3rd shift to cover vacations.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Deliver products to local customers and obtain proof of delivery
Provide excellent customer service
Load and unload the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner
Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives
Maintain a high standard of driving performance
Maintain compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
Communicate effectively with department leads and branches on all job related issues
Maintain vehicle and shipping and receiving dock cleanliness and order
Follow processes and procedures in place for effective job performance
Participate in company process improvement initiatives
Provide coverage in areas in which staffing is low and work level is high

Job Requirements/Specifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to meet and maintain qualifications as required by the DOT
Class A required
Six months previous delivery or courier experience preferred
Demonstrated computer skills
Ability to lift 100 lbs
Knowledge of Eclipse preferred
Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus
Ability to operate lift truck equipment
Ability to work a flexible shift
