- Fully understand how to operate and safely drive assigned vehicle
- Pick-up and safely transport product to the intended destination
- Ensure contents are properly secured to prevent damage/injury
- Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
- Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery
- Communicate with dispatch as needed
- Confirm that the contents of each shipment load match the manifest document
- Perform inspections of the vehicle prior to and following each trip
- Ensure vehicle is kept clean
- Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
- Follow delivery schedule to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
- Track and report working hours
- Adhere to company rules and regulations
- Obey all applicable traffic laws
- Comply with ICC and DOT regulations
- Make safety a priority at all times
Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) class A required
- Clean driving record with no moving violations
- 2+ years of experience in commercial truck driving
- Must be able to pass a DOT drug screen and physical examination
- Self-started who works well independently
- Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
- Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
