Full Description
Job Description:
• Responsible for the safe and swift movement of loaded and empty trailers between docks, warehouse staging areas, and parking locations to support inbound and outbound operations.
• Maintain an organized, efficient, and clean trailer yard, supporting inbound unloading and outbound loading schedules.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard trucks and trailers for maintenance needs.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse management, shipping clerks, and drivers to coordinate trailer movement and report maintenance issues.
• Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
• The ideal candidate will maintain a high level of efficiency, ensuring trailers are positioned accurately to meet shipping schedules.
• Job will involve 90% Switching and 10% Driving Local Routes to Company Owned Warehouses
Education/Experience/Certification/Licenses:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• CDL License required with 2 years of experience and a clean driving record.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to read, write and speak English is essential.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently as needed.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
• Continuous climbing in and out of a switcher or over the road truck.
• Excellent backing and maneuvering skills in tight, high traffic areas.
Work Schedule:
• 6am to 2pm Monday - Friday, Occasional Overtime
