CDL A Flatbed Driver - $27/HR

About the Position

Our client is seeking a CDL A Flatbed Driver for a local, on-site position in Midland, Texas. This role combines local deliveries with warehouse responsibilities, transporting PVC pipe, valves, fittings, and underground waterworks materials. Drivers will operate a Ram 550 with a 30-foot fifth-wheel trailer or a Ford F250 and must be comfortable securing and handling their own loads.

Pay & Schedule

• $27 per hour
• Estimated weekly gross pay of $1,100
• Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• 40 hours per week
• Local routes in and around Midland, Texas, with deliveries that may be up to four hours away
• Temp-to-perm employment opportunity

Job Details

• Route type: Local deliveries
• Freight: PVC pipe, valves, fittings, and underground waterworks materials

• Handling: Light-touch freight; drivers pick materials, assist with loading and unloading, and secure loads
• Approximately 70% driving and 30% warehouse work
• Use a smartphone for pre-delivery and post-delivery tracking

Key Responsibilities

• Operate assigned vehicles for local deliveries.
• Transport and deliver waterworks materials safely and efficiently.
• Pick materials and assist with loading freight.
• Secure loads using straps and verify that freight is properly prepared for transport.
• Operate a sit-down forklift.
• Unload or assist with unloading materials at delivery locations.
• Complete delivery tickets and obtain customer signatures.
• Process returns and local pickup orders.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Report vehicle issues or defects promptly.
• Complete required delivery tracking using a smartphone.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• 1+ year of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience
• At least one year of experience operating the assigned class of vehicle
• Flatbed driving experience and the ability to secure loads
• Experience operating a sit-down forklift
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements
• Must be at least 21 years old
